I will practice Bikram yoga every day for the next few weeks.
Why? I need to hit the reset button. Due to the ebb and flow of this thing called life, my daily yoga practice has taken a back seat, old habits have come back, I am not sleeping well and my mind is racing too often. Since yoga heals by doing more than burning calories and toning muscles, I use yoga as my source for strength and flexibility with not just my body, my mind too.
Why Bikram yoga? Because this yoga sequence is the best yoga sequence. Period. Also because Bikram yoga is my yoga of choice. The 26 yoga postures (asanas) and 2 breathing exercises systematically move fresh oxygenated blood to 100% of your body, to each organ and fiber, restoring all systems. Most importantly for me, Bikram yoga helps regulate the endocrine system and this system influences almost every cell, organ, and function of our bodies. In addition, the endocrine system regulates our mood, growth, and development, tissue function, metabolism...... read: hormone powerhouse. So basically, Bikram yoga makes me feel damn good. And when I feel good, I am better to myself and others.
